Kevin's practice focuses on a broad spectrum of contentious matters, with particular emphasis on international arbitration and complex commercial disputes across the ASEAN region, especially Indonesia. His work spans corporate and joint venture disputes, shareholder claims, and restructuring and insolvency matters, where he regularly advises multinational corporations, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals.
With deep regional expertise and native fluency in Bahasa Indonesia, Kevin is uniquely positioned to handle cross-border disputes involving Indonesian interests. He regularly acts for clients in high-stakes arbitrations and court proceedings with a jurisdictional emphasis on Indonesia and the broader ASEAN region, bringing both technical legal acumen and cultural insight to complex multi-jurisdictional matters.
Kevin has represented clients in significant international arbitrations under SIAC rules, including shareholder disputes valued at approximately S$100 million, bancassurance distribution disputes across multiple ASEAN jurisdictions valued at S$40 million, and consortium disputes relating to major infrastructure projects. He has successfully defended setting aside applications and obtained enforcement orders in aid of foreign arbitral awards, and recently acted as Singapore counsel in setting aside proceedings involving an arbitral award with a quantum of approximately US$500 million.
His litigation practice encompasses sophisticated corporate governance disputes, professional negligence claims, and breach of trust proceedings before the Singapore High Court, Court of Appeal, and Singapore International Commercial Court. Notable recent matters include acting for shareholders in joint venture disputes involving Indonesian mining assets, defending professional service firms in high-value negligence claims, and representing creditors in major restructuring proceedings including the successful scheme of arrangement for Pacific International Lines.
Kevin's commitment to the arbitration community is evidenced by his recognition as First Runner-Up in the 2024 HKIAC Essay Competition and Second Runner-Up in the 2019 Young SIAC Essay Competition. He has published extensively on international arbitration topics and regularly speaks at industry forums. In 2023, he was named one of Singapore's 30 Most Influential Lawyers Under 40 by Singapore Business Review.
Dual-qualified in Singapore (2016) and England & Wales (2024), Kevin graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2015 under the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship. He spent time at Fountain Court Chambers in London in 2018 as part of the Christopher Bathurst Prize, which he won in 2017. Prior to his current practice, Kevin specialized in intellectual property and technology matters with emphasis on fintech, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
