Gerald is a partner in the Corporate and M&A and Commercial teams.
He advises companies, private equity and venture capital funds and other financial organisations on cross-border acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and mergers. A recent transaction involved advising a global US investment bank on the USD 1 billion indirect acquisition of a global logistics services provider. This multi-jurisdictional deal involved a network of over 90 facilities in 25 countries.
Related areas of advice include corporate governance and corporate finance matters, involving amalgamations, capital reductions, redemptions, restructures and share buybacks.
Gerald specialises in private equity and venture capital deals in the technology sector, in particular emerging fields such as ‘deep tech’, which includes artificial intelligence, deep learning and machine learning. He also advises on e-commerce solutions and platform-based technologies.
Gerald is one of a handful of senior lawyers in Singapore with experience advising on colocation data centers and the associated commercial and leasing arrangements. He recently advised a US-based global information management organisation on the USD 100 million acquisition and leaseback of a data centre in Singapore.
Gerald is fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
